Emergency Analysis - AFL 2011 Round 5

Adelaide
James Sellar, Myke Cook, Matthew Wright
Only Wright has potential for fantasy teams, due to his low price.

Brisbane
Amon Buchanan, Bryce Retzlaff, Claye Beams
The Lions went super tall, with Clark and Leuenberger up forward, so there isn't room right now for cheap dual-position fantasy player Bryce Retzlaff.

Carlton
Paul Bower, Dennis Armfield, Kane Lucas
Those three ran around in the VFL, as did Henderson and McLean, and could all be playing AFL soon if some spots open up, with maybe McLean and Bower, who might have a minor leg injury, being the potential fantasy bargains.

Collingwood
Cameron Wood, John McCarthy, Andrew Krakouer
Wood is only needed if Jolly is out and Jolly looked healthy on Anzac Day as he starred, although the Brad Dick versus A Krakouer position battle is a lot closer but expect Brad Dick to get another chance after sitting as a substitute for most of the game in the AFL.

Essendon
Andrew Welsh, Alwyn Davey, Michael Hibberd
Fantasy coaches are waiting for Michael Hibberd to play, and then play again and be named for a third game, as he can not only free up fantasy money but is an option for the midfield bench or the back line bench.

Fremantle
Michael Walters, Jesse Crichton, Jack Anthony
The Dockers had to pick one of these three and went with Crichton, who had few stats.

Geelong
Josh Hunt, Mathew Stokes, Allen Christensen
Maybe M Brown will be someone who can help fantasy teams and not those above.

Gold Coast
Maverick Weller, Alik Magin, Rex Liddy
The Suns added Weller as a late replacement, he came into the season with plenty of hype but hasn't been useful for fantasy teams yet.

Hawthorn
Brendan Whitecross, Jordan Lisle, Riley Milne
Lisle could be very good for fantasy teams, if Hawthorn install him at centre half back.

Melbourne
Round 5 bye.

North Melbourne
Jamie Macmillan, Ben McKinley, Cameron Pedersen
Pedersen has to play soon, and maybe a spot opened up in their back line as R Tarrant may have been tried as a forward for some of their recent game.

Port Adelaide
Kane Cornes, Mitchell Banner, Daniel Stewart
Brogan missed so D Stewart played and K Cornes was in the SANFL reserves this week, while fantasy coaches may be able to trade for Jacobs or Newton in a month or two.

Richmond
Shane Tuck, Daniel Connors, Jeromey Webberley
Tuck played but was the substitute and isn't a safe pick for fantasy teams, although Richmond did win and they may want to keep the same team for next round.

St Kilda
Jason Blake, Raphael Clarke, Nicholas Winmar
Winmar could be useful for fantasy teams if he plays so see what happens there.

Sydney
Round 5 bye.

West Coast
Round 5 bye.

Western Bulldogs
Dylan Addison, William Minson, Liam Jones
Nothing there for fantasy teams.
