he PBA doesn’t think cops need to have their heads examined.
In the aftermath of the police-involved shooting death of Bronx teen Ramarley Graham, Bronx Assemblyman Eric Stevenson has introduced legislation that would require cops who regularly patrol the streets to have mental health evaluations every three years.
But Patrick Lynch, president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, said there is “absolutely no evidence” to support the need for such a bill.
“NYC police officers are among the best trained and most restrained in the use of force in the country and are rigorously screened and supervised,” Lynch said.
The NYPD did not immediately return requests for comment.
