Christie Brinkley is a ‘second-rate celebrity starved for attention,’ ex-husband Peter Cook’s lawyer says as war of words continues

She called him a bully, now he calls her a publicity hound. Christie Brinkley's ex-husband, Peter Cook, is shooting back a day after Brinkley's pals told the Daily News he keeps harassing her and smearing her reputation. "This is the work of a second-rate celebrity starved for attention," Cook's lawyer, James Winkler, said in a statement Sunday. Cook countered that she been bullying him. The former supermodel is scheduled to appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" Monday to discuss the feud and her return to Broadway next month to reprise her role as Roxie Hart in "Chicago." He called Brinkley "a calculating vindictive woman who uses her smiley looks, a creative PR team and antagonistic lawyers to hide her truly mean-spirited nature,” and added just in case his point wasn't clear: “Now she is attempting to line her pockets by picking his." The couple's marriage broke up after he stepped out on her with an 18-year-old girl. Brinkley's rep could not be reached for comment.
