Almost all the time when a problem between your work and your life occurs, and if you're unable to solve it, you ask yourself why. Your first reaction of course, is to look for answers, which leads you to zero in on your work life balance. Then you realize that you've been leading a work life imbalance.
You've been trying to balance your life and work but most often fail. You are unable to do so. Why? It's because every time you try, you always forget to keep your center.
Keeping your center is very important!
Let me elaborate on this.
In Aikido, the Japanese Martial Art I practice, keeping your center in every movement you make is vital to be able to blend with the attacker's energy and redirect it against him with less possible effort.
If you lose your centering, you also lose your good position in blending with the energy used against you. The chance of redirecting the energy intensified against your foe is gone as well. Much worse, you may be unable to defend yourself from harm.
How do we keep our center?
We keep our center by seeing to it that our body, senses (outer and inner), and spirit are in harmony every time we move. In doing so, our total being is in deep focus to effectively blend with the attacker's energy without cutting its flow and to redirect it intensely at him.
It's the same thing with life. You are leading a work life imbalance because you have lost your center, making you unable to solve crisis after crisis because of vulnerability and incapability of blending with it.
To solve work life imbalance you should keep your center by having an open mind, great focus and positive attitude. Just like in Aikido where attacks are treated as opportunities, treat crisis as a challenge, which you can blend with and transform to opportunity.
Next time if another crisis occurs, don't be Reactive but be Proactive to be able to blend with it. For in blending with it you will learn a lot and grow to your potential. Why? Because in every crisis there is a lesson that will help you improve your total being.
Is there another way of keeping your center? Yes there is. It's keeping GOD.
Let me give you an analogy to Work Life Balance.
Work Life Balance is like a seesaw which fulcrum is at the middle of the lever. However, because you have a fulcrum that is weak, it tends to move away from the middle, thereby losing the center and losing balance. But, if you strengthen your fulcrum by bolting it to the ground, it will stay always at the center, hence, balance is also retained constantly.
The weak fulcrum is you; a human vulnerable to commit mistakes, easily succumbs to confusion, and tends to move away from the center unknowingly.
How do you strengthen your fulcrum? How do you keep your center?
Replace the weak fulcrum with GOD. By making GOD as your fulcrum you're keeping your center.
When GOD is your fulcrum, you now enjoy resting on the middle of the lever, which is rested at the fulcrum and at both ends lays your Work and your LIFE, balanced.
If this is the case, you have now a clear point of view with everything because GOD has unburdened you the lever. Thus, you are able to see crisis from coming and be able to effectively blend with it to positively transform.
When GOD is at the center of your life, you will have positive attitude and divine guidance. You will not easily succumb to confusion making your work and life to stay in balance always.
Keeping GOD is the best way to keep your center.
Be a GOD-centered being not a self-centered one and I'm sure you will always have a Work Life Balance.
