It was three convincing wins and a one-point thriller in the second round of senior A netball on Saturday.
Celtic A, Methven A, and Rakaia A all recorded their second wins in convincing fashion while United A claimed its first win.
In the opening stages Allenton A looked like it would make Celtic work hard for the victory, going out to a 3-1 lead.
Celtic was struggling to progress the ball down court and Allenton was winning the rebound battle, something Celtic had dominated in its previous outing.
However it was only a speed bump, as Celtic found its rhythm and scored nine straight goals to lead 10-3 at the end of the opening quarter.
In a turnaround Allenton was unable to progress the ball as Celtic constantly came up with the intercept.
It was more of the same in the second as Celtic extended the gap out to 15 goals, allowing Allenton just the two scores for a 20-5 halftime score.
The second half saw Celtic continue to play with fast ball movement as its players continually found space while Allenton couldn't avoid turnovers, only adding another two goals in the quarter.
A loose fourth quarter still saw Celtic still take eight goals to Allenton's one for a 38-8 win.
United came back to pip College at the post 24-23 after trailing by five goals mid way through the match.
"We blew it," College coach Jodene Lowe said.
"We had a five goal lead at one point and then handed it back to them on a plate."
After a strong start to the match College faded at the death and was taught a lesson in protecting a lead as United clinched a vital win.
College did have something to celebrate over the weekend, successfully qualifying for the Supernet competition yesterday.
The third game saw Methven overcome Collegiate 35-17.
It was a closely contested first quarter with Methven getting its nose in front 9-6, but it then produced a big second quarter to lead 15-8 at the break.
Methven extended the lead in the third before another big effort in the final quarter to finish 35-17.
To finish the round Rakaia put in a dominant display built on a stifling defence to beat Hampstead 33-14.
The damage was done early in the first half as Rakaia disrupted Hampstead's flow and converted turnovers into a big lead.
"We worked on defence during the week and it was good to see it transpire on the court," Rakaia coach Mandy Hurst said.
After making headway in the first quarter to lead 8-3 Rakaia went ahead 19-8 at halftime.
In the second half Rakaia continued to conjure up intercepts and moved ahead to 23-11 before closing out in the final quarter for the 33-14 win.
