With the economy struggling, more timeshare owners are facing timeshare-related fees that they can no longer afford. Moreover, here are timeshare schemes that promises relief as you pay for a certain upfront fee but do little thing or nothing to help you.

As for North Carolina timeshare owners, their Attorney General Roy Cooper is actively cracking down scams to spare owners from further financial burden. Recently, the North Carolina Attorney General's office

discovered about a Florida company trying to scam North Carolina property owners.

Roy Cooper, North Attorney General, has taken legal action against Premier Timeshare Vacations Inc. of Clearwater, Florida. Complaints were raised regarding the company's operation of making unsolicited phone calls to timeshare owners and trying to dupe them out of their hard-earned cash with phony sales pitches.

Cooper's goal is to banned Premier Timeshare Vacations permanently and obliged them to refund customers and pay corresponding penalties to the state. Inorder to achieve this goal, Cooper has recently taken the case to the higher court and fortunately, Wake County Superior Court Judge Shannon R. Joseph granted Cooper's request.

"In this economy, deceptive telemarketing calls that promise to help you make money can be especially tempting," Cooper said. "People who own timeshares may be eager to sell, but charging them hefty up-front fees for sales that may never happen is no way to do business."
