Khap leaders to join Ramdev’s campaign

After facing flak for their controversial decisions on matrimonial affairs, khap leaders from Haryana will be assembling at Delhi on Sunday to support the anti-corruption move launched by Baba Ramdev.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will sit on an indefinite hunger strike in the capital from June 4 to press his demand for bringing back black money stashed in tax havens abroad.
There are attempts to mobilize various NGOs, groups and organizations to intensify the campaign against the practice of graft. Unfazed by the strong remarks by the apex court against the functioning of khap panchayats, Pradeep Mathur, a follower of Baba Ramdev, claimed that these bodies are doing their work in the right direction.

"In the movement against corruption, we want support from every corner," he added. Mathur said that NGOs and khap panchayats from Haryana, Delhi and UP would participate in the meeting scheduled at the national capital on Sunday. President of Dhankhar khap, Om Parkash Dhankhar said he has informed 40 leaders of khap panchayats to participate in the meeting against corruption. "A few khap leaders have even agreed to sit on indefinite hunger strike in support of baba," Dhankhar claimed.
Secretary of Meham Chaubisi Sarv Khap Panchayat, Ramphal Rathi, said their panchayat has sent a resolution in support of movement against corruption. Leader of Hooda khap, Shri Krishan Hooda, and Jai Singh Ahelawat of Ahlawat khap also expressed support for the yoga guru in his movement against corruption.
