The first trailer for "Snow White and the Huntsman" has been released and promises a visually stunning twist on a classic fairy tale.
Capitalizing on the buzz building around Kristen Stewart's upcoming "Breaking Dawn," the actress takes on the role of Snow White in the Rupert Sanders film.
The trailer opens with a sinister narration from the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron) saying: "Do you hear that? It's the sound of battles fought and lives lost. It once pained me to know that I am the cause of such despair. But now their cries bring strength."
"Beauty is my power," she adds, before the scene cuts to her sucking the life out of a helpless girl.

The Evil Queen then looks into her all-knowing mirror on the wall and asks "who's the fairest of them all?" She is then given a wake-up call when told there's a new young woman that will eventually surpass her.
Angered by the news, the queen hires a huntsman, played by "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, to kill the mystery woman with "lips as red as blood and hair as dark as night."
As classic as the tale goes, the film is anything but the fairytale version most know. The trailer has an aesthetic reminiscent of "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter," with heavy CGI effects. The imagery, from the Evil Queen transforming into a flock of crows to the Magic Mirror taking the form of a blanketed gold human, is distinctly visual.
The film, currently in production, is slated to hit theaters June 1, 2012.
