HISTORICAL music, dance and theatre in New Zealand will now be supported and encouraged by a new charitable trust.
The Historical Arts Trust aims to educate and inspire young people and create new opportunities for enthusiasts and professionals. Executive director, Dimitrios Theodoridis, says the work of the trust will involve children, students, amateur and professional historical artists and the wider community.
“We aim to facilitate dialogue among artists and across disciplines, offer information on performances and workshops, match students with teachers and expose young people to the joy of historical arts,” Theodoridis says.
The trust has already presented a school workshop on Renaissance music and this Saturday will launch a concert series La Musica at St Mary of the Angels on Boulcott Street.
