Best of Mid Canterbury Fly In

Come and enjoy a weekend full of ANYTHING THAT FLIES and don't miss the Tiger Moth Training Camp.
Rugby World Cup 2011 will be one of the largest events New Zealand gets to host; Mid Canterbury is planning on getting involved in the action by hosting the Best of Mid Canterbury Festival.  Starting on September 2, 2011 and running right through to September 11, 2011.
Ashburton District Tourism have asked the Ashburton Aviation Museum to rise to the occasion and we have agreed to put together a Best of Mid Canterbury Fly In with the following objectives.
Classic Aircraft: Microlights: GA Aircraft: Warbirds
- ANYTHING THAT FLIES -
Les Vincent has kindly agreed to work closely with the committee to make this happen and any aircraft owners who woudl like to participate are urged to contact Les at: les.vincent@xtra.co.nz
We plan a flyover of the town involving perhaps hald a dozen or so aircraft - maybe the DC3, Devon, some Tigers and other classics, but at this stage the plan is in its infancy.
But wait there's more: we hope to include a great feature:
WEEKEND TIGER MOTH TRAINING CAMP
Everything from Novice Flight Experience to Renewal of Rating
Peter Hendricks from Wanaka Flight Training and Classic Flights Vintage Tiger Moth Flights has agreed to come through and conduct a training camp provided we have enough interest.  To all those who've said in the past "Pity we can't fly OUR Tiger" here's a chance for you to fly A Tiger!  Expressions of interest REQUIRED.  $285 per hour or shorter flight experiences will also be available.  A rare opportunity to do this at ASHBURTON.  Peter Hendricks our Cheif Flying Instructor has 25 years experience in the Aviation Industry, with over 7500 hours in Commercial Operations and Flight Training.  He has an A-Cat Instructors Rating and is a CAA approved Flight Examiner.
