Best of Mid Canterbury Festival

The Best of Mid Canterbury Festival is an exciting group of events and family-friendly activities showcasing everything that Mid Canterbury has to offer. A showcase of great Mid Canterbury magic kicks off with the Party Under the Stars - an outdoor concert at the Ashburton Domain. A variety of planes will arrive at Ashburton Aviation Museum & Airfield for the Great Ashburton Fly-In.  Visitors will be able to view the aircraft and meet with the pilots. All things rugby will be celebrated with Mid Canterbury's Heartland Championship matches against King Country in Methven and the local 'Demolition Derby' match between Mid Canterbury and neighbours South Canterbury at the Ashburton Showgrounds.  There will be plenty of entertainment both on and off the field before kick off.  The Blue Pub in Methven will play host to a line-up of talented musicians in a massive night of Kiwi entertainment. The Best of Mid Canterbury Market Day at the Ashburton A&P Showgrounds will showcase the stunning range of quality produce from teh Ashburton District - one of New Zealand's premium food-growing regions, alongside the handmade creations of the local artists and craftspeople.
