New Jersey school janitors suspended for binding, gagging students in bathroom

Two janitors at Gregory Elementary School in Long Branch, NJ, were suspended for allegedly binding and gagging four boys in one of the school's bathrooms last week. Two janitors at a New Jersey school were suspended for allegedly binding and gagging four young boys in a bathroom last week and then taking pictures of them, according to local reports. Surveillance cameras at Gregory Elementary School in Long Branch caught the workers on Thursday going into a boy's bathroom that was closed for repairs, followed by four boys, all around the age of 10, CBS New York reported. The boys later complained to a teacher that the creeps tied their hands and mouths with caution tape and took pictures of them, according to reports. Long Branch school officials said they suspect the incident was a prank gone wrong. "It has been expressed to us this was in jest without malice and I hope that's accurate," Long Branch superintendent Michael Salvatore told CBS New York. "But in the end, unfortunately, the misconduct leads us to provide some consequences for the employees." The Monmounth County Prosecutor's office said in a statement they are investigating the incident and there was no evidence the boys were sexually assaulted. The two workers were not arrested and their names were not released. Gregory parent Andrea Colbert told CBS New York she and other parents were disturbed by the incident. "I just thought that it was very messed up," she said.
