Young reporters write about conservation works in country parks

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - Members of the public are invited to visit the "Nature in Touch" Country Parks Educational Programme website to read the interesting reports on conservation works in country parks written by the winners of the Country Parks Reporter Inter-school Competition 2011.

The competition, launched by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) for the first time last year, has received a good response.

"It is hoped that the participants will have a deeper understanding of country parks, biodiversity and flora conservation through reporting and help promote the message of protecting the natural environment," an AFCD spokesman said today (May 21).

"AFCD selected several topics including hill fire prevention, flora conservation, habitat management and visitor services for the young reporters. Various site visits were arranged according to their interests," the spokesman said.
