Tragedy: Mills’ Bodyguard Dies In Accident

A member of the presidential security detail is reported dead in a car accident on Saturday evening in the Upper East Region. The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Mark Woyongo who confirmed the death to Joy News said the accident happened when they were returning from the funeral of the late Overlord of Builsa, Nab Ayetah Azantillow. He said it was at Navrongo that the regional crime officer informed him that two cars, which were trailing the convoy, had been involved in an accident. “Later on we got report that eight of the people were seriously injured; in fact one died and two are in a critical situation.” He said the victims have been conveyed to the Navrongo Hospital whilst arrangement was being made for them to be sent to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further treatments. Even though the deceased was a member of President Mills’ security detail, he was not in the presidential convoy when the accident occurred.
