LUCKNOW: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a sex racket, which was being run from Lucknow, Kanpur and Delhi, with the arrest of five accused including two girls.
One of the girls caught in a compromising position with a man, is a resident of Delhi while the other one is from Sitapur, the police said. Besides, three men who were arrested were identified as Sumit Shukla, a resident of Kanpur Dehat, Shareef alias Sahil, a resident of Gomtinagar and Deepesh Pandey, resident Faizullahganj in Madiaon area of the city. Police said that the sex racket was being operated from the house of Deepesh at Faizullahganj. Acting on a tip-off that a man was moving in the area in a suspicious manner on a four-wheeler, a police team intercepted a four-wheeler (UP 32-CB-2008) at Polytechnic Crossing. On interrogation, the man on driver's seat identified himself as Sumit Shukla, a resident of Kanpur Dehat.
On further investigation, Sumit told the police that he was running a sex racket and it was for this purpose that he had come to Gomtinagar and was returning back to his brother-in-law Deepesh's house in Faizullahganj. Sumit told the police about the presence of two girls at Faizullahganj house. A raid was conducted by the police just in front of a private school in Faizullahganj locality from where they found two girls and two men. "Interestingly, Deepesh's mother Raka Pandey had gone to jail earlier also in a sex racket case," circle officer Anand Kulkarni said.
Detailing about the modus operandi, the police said the gang has several more members, both women and men and efforts are on to nab them.
The police said that the sex racket operator had a list of clients most of whom were fixed and were even high-profile in nature. The police said that the list of the members was being examined. The police said that the clientele included people from Kanpur, Lucknow and Delhi.
