Hail Caesar and other goodies from Warlord Games

Warlord Games have just released the cover art for their much-anticipated set of Ancients Rules Hail Caesar, which have been written by veteran game designer Rick Priestly.
The front cover is very reminiscent of the cover of Black Powder, their previous set of rules, even down to the psuedo-tobacco cards. I suppose this gives their rulesets a certain  theme, but I’m not 100% sure whether I like it or not.
According to Warlord’s press release, they will be re-branding their Ancients range around Hail Caesar, and this will mean that some of their box sets may be changing slightly – for example, the Celtic Warriors box set will have its model count increased from 30 figures to 40 (with a 18% price increase) and the Praetorian Guard box set will now come with the Marcus Aurelius figure in the box (but the price goes up by a third)
Whilst the previews of the Hail Caesar rules have made for informative (and not a little contentious) reading, the proof of the pudding is obviously in the eating, so it will be interesting to see how final product puts it all together.
Release of Hail Caesar is set for approximately a month, so I anticipate that it will be launched at Salute in April. Typically, Baccus are launching their new Polemos Ancients rules at about the same time (you can find a preview of these rules here) proving once again that wargames rules are like buses…
