Educational Testing Service (ETS) recently announced the introduction of their Toefl ® India Scholar Programme. The Toefl ® India Scholar Programme includes three $10,000 scholarships for the UK, the US and Canada and four $5,000 scholarships to any of these three countries. Students taking admission to postgraduate programmes in 2010 are eligible.
The finalists for the scholarship programme will be chosen by an ETS expert panel on the basis of their Toefl scores, academic records, extracurricular activities, analytical skills and innovative ideas. An integral part of the application procedure is a 2,000-word essay. The winners will finally be chosen on the basis of personal interviews.
“Indian schools are filled with students who are brimming with potential, who can go far, if given the opportunity. We are delighted to be able to give these deserving students the opportunity to realise this immense potential,” says Philip Tabbiner, general manager, business development, Partnerships and Global for ETS. Information regarding the programme along with the application form is available at www.ets.org/toefl/india scholarships.

Ruch, covered the gamut of documentary film making, from conceptualisation, editing and photography to funding, marketing, distribution and festival strategies.
Impressed by Gulley Cricket — a documentary by NIMC students — Ruch said, “I would give the film 10 out of 10 for the concept and story telling.” The US expert, who served as jury on leading documentary bodies, said that Indian documentaries have arrived on the international scene.
