Best of Mid Canterbury Market Day

Market day is new to the Ashburton District for 2011 under the umbrella of the Best of Mid Canterbury Festival. The 10 day festival will bring in many people from the surrounding district and with Ashburton hosting Romania for the Rugby World Cup, Ashburton will come alive. Mid Canterbury is one of New Zealand’s premium food growing regions producing a stunning range of quality produce.  The district also has a strong arts and crafts scene and many people producing quality goods using local ingredients and materials. Mid Canterbury already has a number of farmers, craft and other markets.  This event will bring the best of Mid Canterbury together in one outstanding market day targeted at local residents and the Christchurch and Timaru markets.  The day will include giveaways, spot prizes, live music, children’s entertainment and stallholder specials. Market day welcomes any craft, farmer’s market stallholders, food vendors, children’s entertainment, performers and any other such vendors from within the Ashburton District to participate in this Market Day event.
