100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games - Super G

100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games is the ultimate testing ground where elite athletes can experiment and explore performance limits against world-class competition. Mt Hutt will host Super G events. Expanding on the successful inaugural event in 2009, 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games, will feature 16 days of snow and ice sports and is expected to attract over 1,000 elite athletes from throughout the world to the Southern Alps. Building on that success, the 2011 programme has expanded with the inclusion of two new sports and a new location outside of the Otago region. Mt Hutt near Christchurch, Canterbury will now host the Super G and Adaptive Super G alpine skiing events while the remaining alpine skiing events will stay at Coronet Peak in Queenstown. Super G Conducted over one run and incorporates aspects of both downhill and Giant Slalom with the minimum number of gates 35 for men and 30 for women. The high downhill speeds combined with the technical skill of Giant Slalom produce a daring, high speed event that is thrilling to watch. Mt Hutt is exceptional for spectators as you are able to see the full course from a number of locations. Awards ceremonies to be held in Methvan after the race Super G - Adaptive Super G is conducted over one run and incorporates aspects of both downhill and Giant Slalom with the minimum number of gates 35 for men and 30 for women. The high downhill speeds combined with the technical skill of Giant Slalom produce a daring, high speed event that is thrilling to watch. For 2011 this event will be held at Mt Hutt.
