The whos who of British cinema feature in this fast paced family film based on the popular young adult series of books. Alex Rider is like a James Bond for the primary school set and is roped into the alluring world of spys and espionage for the MI6. Alex Rider is played by Alex Pettyfer and has gone on to appear in big Hollywood block buster’s such as I am Number four . (ed- Not to bad on the eye now either!)

6:30pm - Flight of the Navigator (1986)
Book in the whole family for this must see! Flight of the Navigator combines a strong ensemble cast and classic '80s soundtrack (The music video playing in the scene where David meets Carolyn McAdams is Blancmange's "Lose Your Love." – Awesome), with dazzling special effects for a high-flying sci-fi adventure. A Tale of a 12 year old boy who goes missing in 1978 to reappear in 1986, you follow his journey to get back to his own time.
6:30pm - Spaceballs (1987)
Comedy great, Mel Brooks, parodies the sci-fi movie genre, in particular, Star Wars. Hilarity ensues as Planet Spaceball's President Skroob sends Lord Dark Helmet to steal Planet Druidia's abundant supply of air to replenish their own, and only Lone Starr can stop them. Keep an eye out for the world’s best number plate on Princess Vespa’s Mercedes “"Spoil'd Rott'n I."
10:10pm - The Medallion (2003)
Jackie “cheesy” Chan stars in this action classic about a Hong Kong detective, who suffers a fatal accident involving a mysterious medallion and is transformed into an immortal warrior with superhuman powers. According to tour guides at Dublin Castle in Ireland, Jackie Chan hopped onto the throne during filming of The Medallion. This made him the first person to sit on the throne since King George V!
12:30am - The Omega Man (1971)
Rounding up our Sci-Fi Saturday is this classic based on the 1954 novel “I am Legend” by Richard Matherson. Set in 1977, two years after biological warfare wiped out the entire world population, except for Robert Neville (Charlton Heston) and a few that have been mutated into light-sensitive flesh-eating psychopathic zombies who are partially blind. Yes, this story has been remade several times in different guises. We all know the Will Smith version, but did you know that Vincent Price (the “voice” of Thriller”), starred in the 1964 version titled The Last Man On Earth.

Sunday 24.4.11
9:30pm - Hollywood Homicide (2003)
Hip Hop Hooray in this murder mystery comedy. Two LAPD detectives, played by Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, are locked in to investigate the murder of an up-and-coming rap group. Make you go Uuuhhh, Master P makes a cameo as well as the group he producers, 504 Boys (called H20Klick in the film). Mr Death Row Records, Suge Knight stopped this film from being a drama as it was originally intended, due to being a sensitive issue just after the public slaying of Tupac and Biggie. (RIP boys - your music still kicks!)

7:30pm - Igor (2008)
The family fun on GO! continues in this animated fable about a cliché hunchbacked evil scientist's assistant who aspires to become a scientist himself, much to the displeasure of the rest of the evil science community. Great all star voice cast including John Cusack, as Igor, John Cleese and Steve Buscemi. check out THE FIX's hilarious slide show of chicks with Steve Buscemi eyes

Great cast. Great film. A def must watch for this week. A veteran LAPD cop finds life difficult to navigate after the death of his wife. When evidence implicates him in the execution of a fellow officer, he is forced to go up against the cop culture he's been a part of his entire career, ultimately leading him to question the loyalties of everyone around him. Watch out for cameos by Hugh Laurie (House), Common, John Corbett (Aiden from SITC) and the Game.
